TL;DR — The Short Version
BuddyVox processes all audio locally on your computer. We never see, collect, or store your recordings or transcriptions. The only data we handle is your license key and hardware ID for activation. That's it.
1 What We Don't Collect
2 What We Do Collect
To activate and validate your license, we collect minimal information:
License Key
The unique key you receive after purchase. Used to verify your license status.
Hardware ID (HWID)
A unique identifier generated from your computer's hardware. Used to bind your license to your device. We cannot identify you personally from this ID.
Email Address (optional)
Only if you contact support or subscribe to updates. Never shared with third parties.
3 How BuddyVox Works
BuddyVox is designed with privacy as a core principle:
- → All audio processing happens locally on your computer using your CPU or GPU.
- → The AI model (Whisper) runs entirely offline after initial download.
- → Your recordings and transcriptions are never transmitted over the internet.
- → The only network connection is for license activation (one-time) and optional update checks.
4 Third-Party Services
We use minimal third-party services:
Payment Processor
Payments are handled by secure third-party processors. We never see or store your credit card details.
License Server
Our license server only stores license keys and hardware IDs — no personal data.
5 Your Rights
You have the right to:
- ✓ Request information about data we hold about you
- ✓ Request deletion of your license data
- ✓ Use BuddyVox completely offline after activation
6 Cookies
This website uses minimal cookies for essential functionality (remembering your cookie preference). We do not use tracking cookies or analytics that identify you personally.
